Shailaja Balakrishnan was born in 1958 (66 years old as of 2024) in Thalassery, Kerala, India. She works as a psychology teacher at a school in Chennai. She completed her schooling at Auxilium Convent High School, Mumbai and she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Home Science from Ramnarain Ruia College, Mumbai. After that, he enrolled in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), English and Literature, General.
Her father’s name is Narendra Singh and her mother’s name is Usha Singh. He belongs to a Hindu South Indian Brahmin family.

In 1993, the couple was blessed with a daughter ‘Akshita’ and after a few years, they had a son ‘Dhruv’ in 1995. Her son Dhruv made his acting debut in Tamil Cinema with the film Verma remix of Arjun Reddy directed by Bala Shailaja. Her daughter Akshita married to grandson of DMK Leader M Karunanidhi’s Manu Ranjith in Chennai.[1]

After completing graduation, she worked at the Emirates National School in Sharjah. After some time she worked at the India High School in Dubai. Thereafter, she worked for Ryall Associates and She works as a psychological teacher in Chennai but there is no information that she currently works as a teacher.
