Ranjini Chinnaswamy was born in Goundampalayam, Erode Tamil Nadu. She holds the degree of Master of Arts in English Literature from Stella Mari’s College, Vandalur, Chennai, and is a gold medalist. He belongs to a middle-class family his father’s name is Chinnaswamy and his mother’s name is Jyoti Meenakshi. Ranjini has an elder sister Jyothika is also an actress. He belongs to a Hindu family.
